How to Plan a Permanent Jewelry Party in Atlanta
By Alexis ·

A permanent jewelry party is one of the few group activities where everybody leaves with something they actually keep. Private events are a big part of what we do, in South Florida and now in Atlanta, where our founder Alexis is from. This is the planning guide we would hand any Atlanta host, whoever you book.
Why it works for a group
- It runs alongside the party. One person is at the table at a time, and everyone else keeps talking, eating and taking photos.
- Everyone chooses for themselves: chain, metal, wrist or ankle.
- It suits almost any occasion: birthdays, girls' nights, graduations, team events, chapter nights, baby showers and bridal parties.
- Nobody has to take part. Guests who would rather watch can just watch.
Headcount and timing
Plan on about 10 to 15 minutes per person. That works out to roughly an hour for every four to six guests getting a piece. A group of eight is comfortably done in about ninety minutes, and a bigger group simply needs a longer window, not a faster welder.
| Guests getting a piece | Allow about |
|---|---|
| 4 to 6 | 1 hour |
| 8 to 10 | 1.5 to 2 hours |
| 12 to 15 | 2 to 3 hours |
| 20 or more | Ask about a longer window or a second welder |
Do the welding early in the party, not at the end. In the first hour everyone is relaxed, easy to size and happy to sit still, and the pieces are then in every photo for the rest of the night.
What your space needs
- One table and two chairs. A kitchen island, a patio table or a hotel-suite desk all work.
- One standard power outlet within reach.
- Good light. A spot near a window is ideal for a daytime party.
- Shade or air conditioning in summer. Atlanta heat is hard on guests waiting their turn outdoors, so we would set up inside or under cover from about May to September.
Hosting in a rental, a clubhouse or a restaurant's private room? Check with the venue that a small jeweler's welder is fine. It makes a tiny contained spark with no open flame or smoke, and most spaces have no issue, but it is worth a quick question.
How group pricing usually works
Most welders price the piece, not the person: each guest pays for the chain they choose, with welding included. For a private party, Atlanta businesses commonly add one or more of these:
- A minimum number of guests who buy, or a minimum total spend.
- A booking fee or deposit to hold the date, often put toward the pieces.
- A travel fee if you are outside the welder's usual area.
Ask for all three up front and you will be able to compare quotes fairly. Then decide who pays for what. Most groups split it however they were already splitting things, and plenty of hosts cover the guest of honor's piece as the gift.
Ideas by occasion
Birthdays and girls' nights
Matching or mismatched? Many friend groups pick the same chain in different metals, or the same metal in different chains. It looks intentional without being identical.
Sorority and chapter events
Bid day, big/little reveals and sisterhood nights are natural fits. Book early around recruitment, when chapter calendars fill fast, and confirm whether the chapter or each member pays.
Team and company events
A welding table works well as one station at a client event, a team offsite or an office celebration. For a corporate booking, ask whether the company is covering pieces up to a set amount, and agree the invoice details before the day.
Bridal showers and bachelorettes
These have their own considerations, from bridesmaid gifts to timing around the wedding, so they get their own guide.
Host checklist
- Date, start time and a realistic window for your headcount.
- The address, parking and any gate or building access notes.
- Where the table will go, near an outlet and good light.
- Who is paying: each guest, the host, or a split.
- The minimum, deposit and travel fee, in writing.
- A heads-up to guests that it is happening, so nobody is surprised by the price of a chain.
Common questions
How long does a permanent jewelry party take?
About 10 to 15 minutes per guest getting a piece, so roughly an hour for every four to six people. Eight guests usually fit comfortably in ninety minutes.
Do guests have to buy something?
Not usually, but check the welder's minimum. If there is a minimum number of buyers or a minimum spend, the host is normally responsible for meeting it.
Can we do a permanent jewelry party outdoors in Atlanta?
Yes in mild weather, with shade, a table and an outlet. In the summer months we would move it inside or under cover so guests are not waiting in the heat.
How far ahead should we book?
Weekends go first. A few weeks ahead is comfortable for most parties, and earlier for spring weekends and around sorority recruitment.
Can Bond & Fifth do my Atlanta party?
Yes. We come to you anywhere in metro Atlanta, our founder's hometown. Send your date, headcount and neighborhood through the booking form and we will come back to you.
